Alyn Scholarship Fund

The Education Tax Credit Program

Signed into law in 2008, this law allows individuals and businesses to make scholarship contributions for deserving Georgia students.  In return for their generosity, donors receive a dollar-for-dollar state income tax credit.

Donors may designate which school(s) receive the scholarship funds, but, by law, donors cannot determine which particular student(s) receives a scholarship.

Apply Now.  Donate Later.

It's a two-step process to donate.
1) We submit a donation request to the GA Dept of Revenue on your behalf.

2) Once approved (DOR has up to 30 days to approve), donors then have up to 60 days to make their donation.

So, donations aren't due until at least two months after making the request.

ASF accepts donations on behalf of any Georgia private school and will work closely with the institutions of the donor's choosing to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students.  For those amounts donated to ASF that are not designated for use at a particular school(s), they will be used at the discretion of the ASF Board of Directors.

No Cost to Donate

Through the Education Tax Credit program, donors are pre-paying a portion of their state income taxes.  Because of this, they receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for the amount donated; so there's no cost to donate.  It's simply a matter of where your hard earned tax dollars go and who gets to spend it.

Would you rather support students at a Georgia private school of your choosing or have your money go to Atlanta to be spent in the state budget?
